Alejandro Costa Martì

Cello

Alejandro Costa Martí was born on 10 September 2001 in Paiporta, Valencia. He studied at the “Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castellón” where he obtained the “Diploma de Grado en Enseñanza Artísticas Superiores de Música” with distinctions in both cello and chamber music.

He is member of Neue Philharmonie München, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE) and Mannheimer Philharmoniker and has played in halls such as Alte Oper Frankfurt, Smetana Hall Prague, Herkulessaal Munich and Salzburg Mozarteum. As a chamber musician, he has received lessons from Tabea Zimmermann, Angelika Merkle, Heime Müller (Artemis Quartett) and Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartett) and got inspired by a number of renowned teachers, including Konstantin Heidrich, Kristin von der Goltz, Asier Polo, Lluís Claret, Xavier Gagnepain and Salvador Bolón.

His dedication and talent have earned him several prizes and scholarships, including the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) and Dávalos-Fletcher foundation scholarships, the Live Music Now and Frankfurter Bachkonzerte scholarships, the Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert prizes in the cello-piano duo and contemporary music categories, and the Förderpreis of the Wettbewerb of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft.

Currently he is pursuing a master’s degree with Prof. Jan Ickert at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt and plays a cello from María del Mar Castaño (Berlín, 2025)
